Ramblings on this blessed day...

Good morning friends!

First of all, I want to extend my wishes to you all for a blessed Good Friday! I woke up this morning thinking upon the amazing sacrifice my Lord made for me on this day so many, many years ago. It always amazes me that I was on His mind when He died on the tree so long ago. I am SO incredibly thankful for my salvation, that gives me eternal hope.

Today we are going back to my sister's home to dye Easter eggs. And when I say "back" I literally mean just back our drive to where my sister and brother-in-law's home is nestled in the woods. I am so blessed to live so close to my family! My parents live two houses down the street from us only separated by my other sister and her husband who live right next door. We are all blessed to be able to have built our homes on my grandparents' old farmland.

Tonight we are going to my parent's home for a little Easter egg hunt for the kids. Brad and I really try to downplay the secular part of Easter, but we still do participate in egg dyeing and egg hunts. Some of you may disagree with me on this next part, but we told our kids that the Easter bunny is not real. In fact, when I told them, the two younger ones looked at me and told me that, of course, they knew he wasn't real. I was very happy that they weren't devastated.

Anyway, I think that the observance of the secular parts of holidays should be based upon each family's conviction. We are the only family in our extended family that does not recognize the Easter bunny or the tooth fairy, and I hold no judgment against families that choose to incorporate these things into their children's lives. Brad and I personally felt convicted that we should not practice these things, and so we don't.

I have another series in the works for sometime in the near future. I'm putting together a Proverbs 31 woman series. God gave us a plan in His Word, an example, for us women who are serving as wives and mothers. I'm still praying for the details of this series, as I am in no way an expert in this topic, but I am a woman who desires to serve her husband and family in the way God designed me to serve them. So when God gives me the words, I plan on sharing them with you all, my blessed readers who I am so very thankful for.

Well, have a blessed Good Friday and a blessed Resurrection Sunday!
