A Divine Match

No one can sway me from fully believing that God had predestined Sergei to be our son before the creation of this beautiful world.

Psalm 139 has always been a favorite passage of Scripture of mine. It was the passage of Scripture that I chose to write a 15 page paper on in college. It's always spoke to me, and it still does.

Verse 14 - 16 - I praise you because You made me in an amazing and wonderful way. What you have done is wonderful. I know this very well. You saw my bones being formed as I took shape in my mother's body. When I was put together there you saw my body as it was formed. All the days planned for me were written in Your book before I was one day old.

I want Sergei to know that he was never a mistake. God has always had a purpose for this young man, my son, and I'm sure excited to be along for the ride to see it all worked out for His glory.

I praise my Heavenly Father for his divine intervention in Sergei's life. And I praise Him for the blessing it is for me to be a part of it.

And as I sit here on the other side of the world from my home, I know that God's got it all figured out. I know that my loving gracious Father has called us to be here. Right now. Right at this moment.

Oh, and does anyone else notice the uncanny resemblance?? I love how my Father pays close attention to the details! :)

Yes I have noticed the resemblance, prior to you mentioning it here! Sergei is a very handsome young man, too. You have a good looking family.

Thank you for sharing that verse, it just became on of my favorite - and I can't recall having heard it before. It also speaks to me right now, as I am pregnant again. But it warms my heart to think of Sergei, too, and God's plans for him and how I'm watching them play out right now through your blog. SO cool.

There is a song by Christian songwriter Kendall Payne called I Will Show You Love that says, "I am on your side though the wind and waves beat against your faith;
You were on my mind when the world was made;
Trust in me my child, Trust in me my child"

Not scripture but similar idea to your verse. Gives me chills!

I have commented to my hubby previously that Sergei looks like your son and that the resemblance is phenomenal - God takes care of every little detail because He cares so much about us - so glad you guys are having an awesome time!!
