Rummage Sale Update

I'm having a really hard time keeping up with blogging. Life has been busy, and I find it very hard to carve out a chunk of time to devote to my blog. Plus, my mind is so busy thinking about a gazillion different things, that I find it challenging to get on here and focus on blogging. Maybe I have blogger's block. I've heard that happens sometimes!

So last time it was my Aunt Kathy who prodded me to post. This time it was my mom, who sent me an email telling me that I really must update and share how good God was through our rummage sale.

(This was one of two buildings filled to overflowing with donated items!)

Well, God was amazingly good, and we raised much more than I anticipated. It was a TON of work, but we had a lot of fun getting ready which made up for all the hours we put into it! God provided $3500.00 through the rummage sale! And it was amazing to see the outpouring of generosity that people extended to us. There were numerous people who would buy a couple of dollars worth of things but pay with a $10 or $20 and tell us to keep the change. It was very humbling to me.

And we met some really great people, including a Ukrainian woman who came EVERY day of the sale (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) just to show up and support us! She was amazing and wonderful, and I ended up getting her address and phone number because I want to visit her when Sergei gets here so she can personally meet him.

(Our pastor's wife, Tammy, making necklaces for us to sell.)

God is so good. And even though we still have a far way to go to cover all the expenses, God will provide. God is so much bigger than the money we need to adopt Sergei. And He provided for all of His children's needs when they step out in obedience and do His will. And I'm so thankful for that!

So thank you to everyone who prayed for us and the sale. Please continue to keep both of our families in your prayers as we continue to raise money for our adoptions. And pray for our boys, Sergei and Andriy, that God would protect them and soften their hearts towards Him.

Have a blessed weekend and a very blessed Resurrection Sunday!

I am so glad that it went well. I know all about the worrying where the money will come from. Many times I thought we just can't do it. Do it we did! When I stop to think about it I am still amazed how it all came together. God is indeed good!
