It was such a wonderful surprise, and we had such an enjoyable time. We hiked seven different trails for a total of six to seven miles. Several times I thought I may pass out. People, we hiked up a mountain and down the other side, walked along the river and then hiked back up and down the same mountain again. My legs were jelly by the time we made it back to the car.
It was so nice to be able to spend the day together and enjoy God's beautiful creation together. We didn't even do a ton of talking (we couldn't, we were struggling to breath!), but it didn't matter. It was glorious just being together.
Isn't this picture above beautiful? This was one of the more defined trails. Some of the trails were barely trails!
Then there was probably a one mile stretch of trail that was completely lined with wild rhodadendrom. Surprisingly, most of the bushes were in full bloom and it was incredibly gorgeous.
Here's me checking the hiking map. There are a bunch of trails in these woods that intersect at various points.
The Farmer's Inn also has a driving range, three different gift shops, a smokehouse, and a really adorable ice cream parlor. Brad was dead set on getting ice cream after dinner, but we both ate so much that we felt ill, so we had to skip that.
Oh, and we celebrated another milestone yesterday. Ian lost his very first tooth. He's getting so old. Where did the past six years go?

We hiked all day and then headed to the Farmer's Inn for mini golf and eventually dinner. This is the most darling little place. The have a HUGE wrap-around porch with a gazillion rockers to kick back and relax on.
Brad whooped my bum at mini golf. Beat me by 10 strokes. Bummer. I used to beat him everytime, but I've become rusty. I'll blame it on having children. Can't figure out anything else to blame it on.
