I found these pretty brads at Target in their $1.00 section. What a steal.
The bobby pins are from WalMart. Check out the pic of the pins - not your ordinary bobby pin.
First thing you do is attach a brad to the front, top of the pin. Then use a pair of needle-nose pliers to bend the little metal posts of the brad around the pin. Like this:
Then I applied hot glue to the back just to secure it into place. I got a little carried away with the glue on this one. Nice thing about hot glue is that it can always be cleaned up after it cools.
And that's it. That's all there is to making these cute little hair pins. Look how sweet:
Lily was really excited about these hair pins. She picked out her six favorite brads and those were the ones I used. See, even Lily couldn't believe how fast and easy this project was.
Oh, and she also found another use for these sweet things:
