It was as the tired head placed itself down on the cool, crisp linen. It was then that the mind was awakened by the words spoken to the soul:
"Are you holding onto something that is holding you back from something I have planned for you? Something even better than what you have now?"
An epiphany moment that forced the exhausted body to scramble for pen and paper and scribble the words down. Words just for her. She was certain of it. It was the certainty that coerced her eyes open and her fingers to the pen.
But it was more than a question.
It was an invitation. One delivered with all the tenderness and yearning of a Father. An invitation to go to that quiet place and search Him out. Search out His wisdom.
And those words spoken to the soul in the dark of the still night resonate. By the light of the day they stir up those anxious thoughts of what might have to be left go in order to walk in His way.
Because the hand holds tight to things that erroneously comfort and satisfy and feed the need for being wanted and feeling useful.
But it's with the letting go that the real filling can come, that the tank can be filled to overflowing.
With the act of obedience in first loosening the grip and then opening the fingers fully, comes the peace and fulfillment that the soul was made to possess.
There is a certain peace that comes when the soul lets go...
"Are you holding onto something that is holding you back from something I have planned for you? Something even better than what you have now?"
Wow! This is really making me ponder...
