Thoughts on Modesty Inspired by Facebook...

I wrote about modesty in Christian women back here in May of last year. If you care to know my personal convictions on fashion, clothing and modesty issues you can read that post.

Modesty in the Christian woman's life is so important. As much as we as women like to look attractive, we must stop and think about how we are presenting ourselves to those around us, particularly to men.

I just saw a great quote on facebook last week that said, "Dress how you would want other women to dress around your husband."

What a great point. Period.

So, yes, I believe that it is a-okay to put time and some effort into our appearance. I personally do not feel convicted in wearing nice clothing, wearing a little makeup, and taking care of the way I look. However, I do know that there is a line that can be pretty fine.

So, I appreciated that quote. Now when I approach my wardrobe, I will ask myself, "Is this something I would want another woman to wear around my husband?"

You can visit here for a great post by Stacey McDonald on the topic of modesty.

Many blessings!

What a great way of putting it! How can you argue with that?

Perfect quote! I'm a smaller size and particularly in summer clothes it's often hard to find clothes that aren't uber revealing- I myself am not even a fan of spaghetti straps, strapless dresses- though that just be my personal comfort as much as a modesty issue! But regardless, it is certainly possible to look nice without showing it all- sometimes you just have to look a little harder;) Thanks for the post!

Love the quote! Thanks for sharing it. Often times, I am blown away at what women and girls wear at church. I often times find myself wondering if my husband caught a glimpse of this or that. How can they not, it set out in plain view.
