Facing Each Day with Purpose...

Jesus didn't begin his official ministry until around the age of thirty.

Up until that time, He lived in the insignificant town of Nazareth, working alongside His adopted earthly father, Joseph, learning the very common trade of carpentry. An ordinary life.

Jesus did not step into the spotlight, into the ministry, until His heavenly Father told Him it was time. And there was a perfect God-ordained time for this. It wasn't a coincidence.

What can we learn from this?

Every day counts, every day is important. Every day, every moment, serves a God-ordained purpose. A purpose of preparation for the Christ-seeker, the Christ-follower.

He is using all of those ordinary days and occasions as training ground for our souls.

And when He's tied up all the loose strings of our preparation time, He'll set us loose to accomplish the calling for which we've been prepared.

And so we can look at each day as a day of purpose, a day of preparation for the great works He has planned for each of His children.
