We took a trip to the dollar store the other day so I could buy a few things for Sergei and Ian's birthday parties which are coming up. Each of the kids had a few dollars that they had earned and wanted to buy something with it. Sergei went off on his own and came back about 10 minutes later with hair clips for me and a pocket knife for Brad. Ian and Lily then decided that they were also going to spend their money on other people.

When we got home I pulled out the wrapping paper and bows and let the kids wrap their gifts for Brad. Unfortunately, he worked late that night and the kids didn't get to give him their gifts. But bright and early the next morning they were all piled on our bed showering Brad with their gifts they had bought as well as some they had made.



It melted my heart to see their generosity. To see that they would choose to spend their money on gifts for each other rather than themselves was amazing!
