My morning quiet...

Time with God each morning is essential to my well-being. And so each morning, I brew my coffee and sit and enjoy my time in the Word. Sigh. It's a lovely time.

For the last several years, I've also been doing spiritual journaling most mornings. These are my personal letters to my Father. Written by me and straight to Him; our conversations had in the quiet of a moment.

And many verses of Scripture fill the pages of my journal and their application to my life. Quotes and notes from any books that I may be reading at the time also fit between the lines.

So, you see, my journal is just that. Mine. It's whatever I feel like making it that day. I don't sit down with the intention of writing something in particular, because then I wouldn't find joy in it. The scriptures speak to me and then the words to God flow out from the recesses of my heart.

And then I go back in time. And I read all that was concerning me, my petitions to God, and, of course, His faithfulness in each situation. And this encourages me to keep going on. Reminding me that God has always been and will always be faithful. And the proof is right there between the lines. There's no denying the curves of my own penmanship. God is faithful...

It is also a wonderful testimony to your children. They will treasure it themselves someday;and the memory of your faithfulness.

This is very encouraging.....so lovely, and pushing me to begin doing the same. I did used to do it, and then - well, you know how it is - different seasons, routines change, and often, it's the most important things that get left out.
Thanks for this.....enjoying my first visit to your blog.
