Sergei Update:

We're currently awaiting approval from the US government to travel. It's been over a month since we submitted our application, and my heart races every day as I walk to the mailbox anticipating that this might be the day I receive the letter. So far, we haven't received anything, and we just found out last night that the processing time in PA is running slower than what we were originally told.

However, I'm really trying to just keep things in perspective and wait on God's perfect timing. Sergei, in the meantime, is so anxious to get home. He is so excited and cannot wait until we come. It's encouraging to us to know that he really wants this too.

There was a family that recently traveled for their adoption to the same orphanage that Sergei is in, and they took a few photos of him for us. Here is one of the photos that they sent us.

When we talked to Sergei via a translator Easter weekend, I told him he better watch out when I get over there because when I see him I'm going to give him the BIGGEST hug he has ever gotten. He laughed, but I mean it! I cannot wait to see him again! It has been so hard to be apart from this wonderful boy whom we consider our son. Please keep us in your prayers!

Have a blessed weekend!

How wonderful that you received pictures! I know that the wait is super hard. Hang in there!

Great pics. The waiting would be terrible. Have you contacted your state representative about speeding the process up. Amazing what they can do when they want to. Shawnee was not getting her passport in time to go to Haiti, through government bungling and one call to our congressman had it here overnight. Might be worth the call.
