Pumpkin Spice, Crisp Air ~ The Delights of Autumn

Every fall, the kids and I make caramel apples. It's kind of our way of kicking off the fall season. This year was rough for me. I've been in denial that fall is here. You see, I absolutely adore summer and the warm weather it brings. And I absolutely try to like winter and the snow it brings, but I have never quite succeeded at embracing the cold, snowy weather we have here.

However, the kids were begging me to make caramel apples Friday after our lessons, so I caved. And you know what? That's all it took. The smell of yummy caramel and apple put me in an autumn tailspin. I could no longer resist. So I decorated. And I enjoyed it. Now, I don't go all out because it's much too big of an ordeal to put everything away. But I do like to rearrange and "winterize" our home.

So I thought I'd share a few photos of our home...

Welcome to our fall home...

I almost always have a pumpkin spice candle burning this time of year. It makes the house feel warm and cozy.

This little silver platter holds seashells in the summer. I changed the seashells out for the following arrangement. Simple, but I love it.

Thanks for taking the time to visit me! Happy Fall!

Amber

You had sinus surgery? And you survived? That is so encouraging to hear! ;) It's been a pretty awful week. And today they are moving the splint from inside my nose (had my septum done, too) and I'm SO nervous. I just can't take the feeling of having my nosed crammed full of junk any longer. It's so uncomfortable and makes me feel queasy. Please tell me the surgery was worth it, in the end...

ps- Sorry to post this here. I didn't have any other way to write you back! You can totally delete this "comment". :)

Hi AMber
You have captured the essence of fall so simply and so beautifully. I love your home. I understand your feelings about fall. We used to live in Canada and although I loved fall I didn't like what was coming next! Thanks for joining the party.
Hugs, Rhondi
