Gooseberry Patch Added to My Goodies!

I hope you all will forgive me for using my blog as my little advertisement spot. This is only temporary, and I hope you will all understand! :) Oh, and I really do not hope you all think I'm desperate. We're not desperate. But since we need the money right now, I thought this would be a good time to clean out some of my goodies.

I just added one of Gooseberry Patch hardbacks to my ebay sales. This is from my own personal Gooseberry collection.

It is divided into four sections - one for each of the four seasons. Each section includes recipes and craft projects that pertain to that particular season. Lots of cute ideas and yummy recipes!

Just Added!

I just added these handmade red damask/red ticking strip pillows to my ebay listings! Each measures 18" x 12". $9.99 for both! Scroll to the bottom to see the other items or just click on the ebay link to the right in my toolbar!

Ebay Listings

I've listed some things on ebay. If you're interested in seeing what's there, scroll down to the bottom of my blog, and you'll find the link!

I'm amazed

Remember this little guy?

This is Jin. The little boy that we were all set to adopt back in February. Then we found out that it was very likely that he had Fanconi's Anemia, a life-threatening blood disorder. After weeks of prayer and many tears we made the very difficult decision not to adopt him.

Well, I received the most wonderful news from our caseworker yesterday. She knew how much we've been praying for him so she wanted to let us know that he is being adopted by a family in Michigan! I cannot describe to you the joy that I felt within my soul when I read this. We have prayed for Jin every single day since we made the decision not to adopt him. And the Lord provided for him. And, sadly, it was confirmed that he does have Fanconi's Anemia so please join us in praying for a miraculous healing for Jin. And for strength for his forever family as they deal with his many needs.

Ian just asked me the other night, "Mom, why did God bring Jin in our lives and then not let us adopt him?" And you know, I had asked myself that same question for months. But that night as we laid in Ian's bed in the dark, I could answer him with full confidence. "Well, Ian, I think God knew that Jin was going to need people praying for him, and he knew that we would."

And I am so thankful to God for showing us how He has worked this out. I believe that, for some reason, we just weren't the best family for Jin. But God used us to have Jin diagnosed. Now Jin's family will be prepared for when the disease progresses and his doctors will be able to start right away in treating him. For some reason, Jin was meant to be in Michigan. There's something there that God knew Jin needed. And I probably will never know what, but I'm okay with that. Because God is taking care of Jin. And that's more than enough for me.

Stayed tuned for some goodies up for sale!

In the last two months, our puppy broke its leg requiring a $3000.00 surgical repair and our well lost water. The estimate for a new well is $5000.00. Now we're in selling and saving mode. The surgery is taken care of, but we need to save the cash to pay for a new well so that I can actually do a load of laundry and get a shower without running out of water!!!

So, I'm parting with some of my home decor and some other odds and ends. And I wanted to post it here on my blog in hopes of getting a little more ebay traffic to my items. I'm hoping to get everything posted by next week, but here's a sneak peek at what will be up for sell.

And there will be more. Some possible items ~ all items seen above, crafting supplies, more home decor, Billy Banks workout DVD's, possibly some children's items, possibly some Pampered Chef items. I'm not even sure yet. I'll be devoting some of my weekend to weeding through my stuff and posting it to ebay. So if you so desire, stop back in next week and check out the link to my ebay sales!

Pumpkin Spice, Crisp Air ~ The Delights of Autumn

Every fall, the kids and I make caramel apples. It's kind of our way of kicking off the fall season. This year was rough for me. I've been in denial that fall is here. You see, I absolutely adore summer and the warm weather it brings. And I absolutely try to like winter and the snow it brings, but I have never quite succeeded at embracing the cold, snowy weather we have here.

However, the kids were begging me to make caramel apples Friday after our lessons, so I caved. And you know what? That's all it took. The smell of yummy caramel and apple put me in an autumn tailspin. I could no longer resist. So I decorated. And I enjoyed it. Now, I don't go all out because it's much too big of an ordeal to put everything away. But I do like to rearrange and "winterize" our home.

So I thought I'd share a few photos of our home...

Welcome to our fall home...

I almost always have a pumpkin spice candle burning this time of year. It makes the house feel warm and cozy.

This little silver platter holds seashells in the summer. I changed the seashells out for the following arrangement. Simple, but I love it.

Thanks for taking the time to visit me! Happy Fall!

Running at the Speed of Light...

This is what we've been up to...

If any of you have any tips on how to homeschool, keep house, keep hubby, and have time to keep an updated blog, please do tell! I'm dying to know!

Oh, and if anyone has a spare moment and would like to volunteer their time to decorating my house for fall, I'd be more than happy to take you up on the offer. Maybe you could throw in a few minutes of dusting while you're here?

Have a great weekend!
