the ballet

Last Friday, Lily, her friend Veronica, my mom, and I drove into the city to see Peter Pan, the ballet. We had really great seats, third row from the stage. It was a great ballet, and the girls really enjoyed themselves.

Lily loves the Benedum Center. She loves the fancy furnishings, the gold trimmings, and the beautiful chandeliers. We got there early so we were able to walk around so the girls could admire all of the little rooms.

My friend Claire always manages to organize the best field trips, which have always included at least one ballet or musical performance a year. Because we are a homeschooling group, we are eligible to get the discounted tickets and attend the school matinees. This makes visits to the cultural district affordable.

Ian seems to be on the upswing of this second illness. Thank goodness! The poor kid is going crazy being cooped up in the house. We have nowhere to be this week until Friday afternoon, so I'm really praying that he is completely better by then.

What fun, adding a little culture in your life. We took our daughters to the Sound of Music they loved it. Stay warm.

How fun! I have been there! We watched Edward Scissorhands, I think. :) We had seats up high though...a little crunched, but it was still fun anyway! :) Glad you guys got to go!

What an awesome field trip, and what a beautiful theater! Lily looks so happy. I think it's really cool that she has such an appreciation for beauty at such a young age.

Hi Amber....I went to the Pittsburgh Ballet when I was in 6th grade, growing up in NW PA. I am blogging again and I thought you might want to remove my old, old blog (of bees and buttercups) from your blog list under your google profile as that is a blog of unnatural badness right now. I haven't checked on it since I saw it on another blog listing and notified that person to remove it. Thanks, Andrea
