The rhythm of learning in our children...

We've been easing our way back into the rhythm of formal learning. Days more structured, bedtime a bit earlier. Learning more intense.

Learning is a natural part of life. I want to inspire a desire to learn in my children.

These precious little minds do their learning cozily around the coffee table, snuggled up with me on the couch, running around in the backyard, reading under a blanket.

And this is one of the things I love about homeschooling.

Life is learning.

Learning can be done to a natural rhythm. That is learning in its rawest form.

It can flow from us to our children. We teach. We guide. We inspire their creativity. We encourage their imagination and curiosity. We provide rich environments.



And they learn.

They learn science while on walks through the woods or while visiting the seaside (oh, the opportunities are endless in this world.) They learn etiquette and responsibility while contributing to the family through chores and work. They learn spelling and grammar while reading good, whole books.



They learn math while helping measure out ingredients for cookies or while counting out their change at the store. The learn history while visiting battlefields or reading living books curled on the couch with their mama.

They learn about their Creator while reading from His raw Word. They learn it by seeing their parents seek Him on their knees or with head bent over His Book.

They can take a trip around the globe from a comfy seat right there in your living room. They can soar into the night sky and explore the stars from the rocking chair on your front porch. They can dig into the dirt of ancient civilizations from the comfort of their bed before bedtime. 

The opportunities to teach your children are endless. Homeschooler or Traditional-Schooler. Which one you are is irrelevant.

 

You are your child's first and most important teacher.

Imagine.

Imagine the opportunities. Imagine the possibilities.

You have the power to inspire a love of learning in your children.

Imagine.
