Bombus the Bumblebee,
by Elsie Larson, is a cute little child's book that reminds us of the diversity of God's creation. In this book, young readers will follow Bombus the bumblebee as he discovers that he is different than the other bees around him. At first, Bombus sees this as a detriment and becomes discouraged. The taunting he receives from the other bees around him causes Bombus to view his life as inferior and second-rate just because he's different than the other bees, not as fast and not as agile a flyer .
Then Bombus hears from God. And God reminds him that he was made to fly, not crawl like the ants and caterpillars . God reminds Bombus that He fashioned him just as He wanted. That He designed Bombus ' body to fulfill the purpose God had fashioned him for. After hearing this, Bombus forgets about all the mean taunting from the honeybees and focuses on God's words to him. And, as a result, Bombus flies! This was such a cute little book. I read it to my 7-year-old son and my 5-year-old daughter and they both really enjoyed it. Both of them stayed captivated by the book. The book contains the fictional story of Bombus as well as a couple of pages of facts about bumblebees in the back of the book. There is also a page of thought-provoking questions for parent and child to discuss. Another cool feature of this book
are the last few pages that contain several creative activities to do with your children. These activities reinforce that we are each unique creations and that that makes us special. These activities include things such as making balloon bumblebees, fingerprint bees, and drawing silhouettes of your children. This was a cute book! I really liked the message and it was presented in a cute, creative way! It's an enjoyable, interesting way to present God's unique design in His creation. *I received this book for free from Master Books in exchange for my honest review.*

Hi Amber,
I just stumbled across your blog. I also received and reviewed Bombus. It was a great little book. I started following your blog as well.
My blog is Manifest Blog if you're interested. My most recent post is about a new book I read called Ronnie Wilson's Gift. Highly recommended if you haven't read it yet.
Blessings!
