I am so excited about being able to make someone something and not break the bank and its so much more special. Unfortunately, I cannot share the ideas on my blog, because the family looks at it sometimes...
Love homemade washclothes and yours look so nice!!
EliseElisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00669663704444452161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2993400204848242278.post-22203502571786408132009-11-27T13:28:18.988-05:002009-11-27T13:28:18.988-05:00I'm completely with you. I don't want to hear the music before Thanksgiving unless I play it myself while creating something to give for Christmas.

Everything will be handmade homemade and heartmade at our house this year.

LauraLaura of Harvest Lane Cottagehttp://lauraofharvestlane.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2993400204848242278.post-36879887234628098342009-11-15T21:23:07.449-05:002009-11-15T21:23:07.449-05:00I have a request in to my daughter for some dishcl...I have a request in to my daughter for some dishcloths like that. She is the knitter. I crochet. The pattern I found is for knitted dishcloths at http://homespunliving.blogspot.com/2007/11/waffle-knit-dishcloth-pattern.html So hopefully my daughter will take the hint. We are giving handmade this year as well. I will be giving out a couple of quilts and some gratitude wraps and some cathedral window ornaments.Cherylhttp://quiltingmemoriesfortomorrow.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2993400204848242278.post-37800923826946383892009-11-12T19:41:34.066-05:002009-11-12T19:41:34.066-05:00I would love the pattern. I even bought some of the beige cotton crochet thread that you used. We do handmade many Christmas presents too.

You asked about painting my bathroom cabinet - my cabinet isn't completely real wood either, part of it is laminate.

I sanded very lightly just to remove the shiny finish. I took the doors off and primed everything with a Kilz brand primer. It's best to let the primer dry for a couple of days - the paint seems to adhere much better.

I used Rustoleum American Accents paint in semi-gloss. I've used that paint on many furniture projects and it is wonderful. It's a very good quality paint. Two coats did the trick.

Hope that helps!Mandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13186808429759584284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2993400204848242278.post-80992927221150420812009-11-12T18:41:07.455-05:002009-11-12T18:41:07.455-05:00I love the gifts.
